Right well yesterday was our dad's birthday and it was the big 6-0 for him. We wanted to make it extra special as we normally buy him a box of chocolates or something small and not very thoughtful. But this was not just any birthday, he was 60 years old and deserved something special. We thought about things we could buy him and we decided that together we would make him a "birthday box" which is just a box full of presents. We decided to get him 60 presents, some very very small (under £1 even) and some big, but we left it to late and came to a decision to get him something else. Alexa found an amazing website called getting personal (http://www.gettingpersonal.co.uk/) and it had some really amazing personalized gifts. Our dad loves history and books so she got him a massive book- The daily mirror of your decade, 1940's. It has over 100 newspaper articles from the 1940's, including 1949 the year our dad was born. He loved it and has been fixed to it since. She also got him a Family history gift box, in which you register online and a team of historians research your family name and give you some information on the name and what it means. He said it was very thoughtful and that he loved it. I (Lacey) made him a "pamper hamper" full of his favourite stuff. We got him some Lush stuff because we really want him to try some as we are so in love with lush. I got him the dude gift set from lush and that contained:
Ambrosia shaving cream
Tramp shower gel
The happy pill
Ice blue soap
It came with popcorn inside as some sort of stuffing or something and he ate some LOL. I also got him three of his favourite bath ballistics, vanilla fountain, waving not drowning and butterball.
I also filled the box which I wrapped specially with his all time favourite things,
Adidas deodrants
Radox shower gel (it soothes his muscles but smells distgusting!)
Chocalte brazil nuts
Wholenut milk chocolate
Walnut whips.
Alexa also got him two very lovely little presents. A tea coaster with a beautiful message on, and a little plaque/picture thing that was lovely and had a sweet message on. It said- Anyone can be a father, it takes someone special to be a teacher.
That's all we got him and he said he liked everything. Alexa also used her great editing skills (not) on making him a picture slideshow video which she is burning onto a disc and giving as a present to him today.
We ate cake in the morning before I went to school and Alexa had the day off being homeschooled. In the evening we went out to a cute little restauraunt to eat out. Alexa and I had a really nice pasta bake, salad and garlic bread followed by hot chocolate fudge cake and ice cream and Dad and Mum had a bowl of chips each as they weren't very hungry. It was a lovely day :D
I can't wait for Alexa's birthday on october 17th! She will be 15 and it is this saturday :D
Lacey x
A few things Alexa also got for me. This really cute marble slab, the best friend slab and the coaster which says lucy instead of lacey(there were no lacey's).
